I got everything I need for the holidays - Sawdust City Brewing

For the 6th installment of our collab series with Eastbound Brewing, this year’s Sam & Dave Christmas Ale is a decidedly different take than in years past. 

Leaving the Belgian styles we normally do, this year we are going to try our hand at a German inspired Weizenbock. Utilizing a traditional weizen yeast and a rich malt bill, this year’s offering is most certainly different from years past.  With a fruity and spicy yeast driven aroma, a blend of 5 different malts, there is definitely lots to feel merry for about this special holiday release. Pouring a dark brown, this unfiltered wheat ale has a fluffy white head with aromas of spice, raisin, and a hint of banana. The flavour has a ton of spice and fruit derived from the yeast, while a rich malt character from the generous use of wheat and a touch of dark specialty malt gives it the heft it requires ! The elevated ABV, gives a full bodied mouthfeel with a noticeable alcohol warming.
